Location: Remote with requirement to travel for business needs. 

Role Purpose:

The Senior Manager, Global Payroll is responsible for overseeing and managing the global payroll function, ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time. This role leads a globally distributed team and develops payroll policies, procedures, and systems that maintain compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements, including SOX compliance. The position leverages industry best practices to enhance payroll operations and service delivery while ensuring readiness for audits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a globally distributed payroll team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all global locations, with direct responsibility for payroll processing in North America to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international payroll regulations, tax laws, and SOX requirements.
  • Prepare for and manage internal and external payroll audits, addressing findings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and implement payroll systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Manage third-party vendors responsible for supporting last-mile payroll delivery, ensuring they meet performance standards and deliver on their contractual commitments.
  • Collaborate with IT and HR teams for seamless integration of payroll systems.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement process improvements as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
    • 7+ years of experience in payroll management, with at least 3 years in a global role.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with global payroll solutions and process automation initiatives
    • Prior global system implementation

Competencies and Proficiency Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance issues in multiple jurisdictions, including SOX compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with effective communication across diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Financial/Budgetary Responsibility: NONE

Team Size: Managing a globally distributed team

Conditions of Role:

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel may be required.
  • Work Environment: Remote

Compensation and Benefits:
