Job Summary The Department of Psychiatry at the University Of Kentucky College Of Medicine is seeking a residency-trained, board certified/board eligible Associate Professor. Preferred experience includes previous experience in providing psychiatric services, as well as experience in teaching medical students, residents, and other health professionals. This position will be instrumental to expand inpatient physician coverage on the Behavioral Health Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital and to provide backup coverage for consultation-liaison and Emergency Department psychiatric care at Good Samaritan and Chandler hospitals. In addition this faculty position may provide backup clinical coverage and resident supervision for the Empath Unit located on the campus of Eastern State Hospital. This program will help create a 24-hour coverage model multiple locations to increase access to psychiatric consults and care throughout the hospitals and Emergency Departments. This position will help provide a proactive consult for patients by placing psychiatrists in medical units throughout the two hospitals for early identification and intervention for behavioral disorders, substance abuse disorders, and psychiatric conditions.
