<li>2. Maintain compliance with professional accrediting agency, Tennessee Board of Regents and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools – Commission on Colleges.</li>
<li>3. Design and administer a systematic curriculum for students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-competency in the chosen surgical technology program a. Develop, evaluate and revise instructional materials including syllabi, course plans, objectives, laboratory activities, teaching materials and evaluation tools. b. Develop pertinent policies and procedures for the program in accordance with college policies. c. Develop course and clinical schedules. d. Assess the effectiveness of the program of study</li>
<li>4. Prepare and administer the Surgical Technology budget.</li>
<li>5. Participate in the selection, supervision and evaluation of program faculty.</li>
<li>6. Participate in recruitment of students including developing and maintaining accurate program promotional materials a. Develop criteria for admission of students to the program and chair the admission/progression activities. b. Advise current and prospective students.</li>
<li>7. Monitor student academic and clinical performance and progression.</li>
<li>8. Maintain an effective and safe campus laboratory.</li>
<li>9. Coordinate program advisory committee and program faculty meetings.</li>
<li>10. Maintain program records and assist in the preparation of required reports.</li>
<li>11. Facilitate partnerships with community agencies to ensure optimal student clinical placement and experiences.</li>
<li>12. Communicate with clinical affiliate(s) as needed to meet needs of the student, facility and program.</li>
<li>13. Participate in professional development activities to enhance personal and professional development.</li>
<li>14. Function as full-time faculty member and coordinate clinical experiences.</li>
<li>15. Participate in community service and professional organization activities.</li>
<li>16. Participate in college committees.</li>

</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree and a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency. Current surgical technology certification. Five years' experience either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or combination of both, within the past 10 years.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or a health-related field is preferred. Experience in administration including program planning, outcome assessment and personnel/student evaluation, Experience in curriculum development, implementation and evaluation. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ability to communicate effectively and to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with others. Problem solving, team building, critical thinking and expertise in curriculum development is required. Understanding of the philosophy of the community college.

JOB STANDARDS:
Minimum Faculty Qualifications&nbsp; All full-time and part-time faculty teaching credit-bearing courses at the associate’s degree level in the areas of humanities, fine arts, natural sciences, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, and business administration (not including courses that are part of career/technical programs) must have at the minimum a master’s degree in the their teaching field or have completed at least 18 graduate semester hours (or equivalent) in their teaching field and hold a master's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
Applicants should note that English Education graduate hours may not qualify. 
The ESL-ESOL-English faculty member must have a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the college level. Teaching experience at a community college is preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
60% Develop and teach online and traditional delivery courses in Design for Web and Print (graphic design and Web design) – to include preparation of course syllabi and materials both for classroom/lab and online delivery.
30% Evaluate student learning, maintain class records, contribute to course assessment, management of labs, and equipment.
10% Participate in curriculum development, student advising, professional development activities, departmental meetings, college advisory boards, and committee meetings. Work with other Media Technology staff and faculty to obtain grants, recruit new students, work with advisory committees to develop and modify curriculum. Perform related duties as assigned.

JOB STANDARDS:

<li>Candidates should have the following qualifications: Master’s Degree in digital design or related media field from a regionally accredited college or university to include 18 graduate semester hours in web design, graphic design, online instructional development and/or media-related courses preferred OR Bachelor’s degree in digital design, graphic design, Web design, or related media field (preference given to BFA in Graphic Design) from a regionally accredited college or university and professional experience sufficient to meet SACS criteria. Tenure will be contingent on applicant obtaining or achieving significant progress towards a Master’s Degree as above.</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years professional experience required.</li>
<li>Preferred minimum of one-year higher education teaching experience beyond the level of Teaching Assistant.</li>
<li>Required solid experience with and continuing interest in advanced digital media for visual communication in Graphic and web design. Demonstration of proficiency with digital media, front-end web design, and social media content marketing. Teaching demonstration will be required at interview. Ability to teach design principles, responsive web design, digital imaging, and multimedia. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Bridge, and related applications. Knowledge of UX/UI design principles, Figma, WordPress and other CMS platforms, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery, and WCAG accessibility standards.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Digital portfolio demonstrating professional experience/expertise in digital design (must be submitted digitally to the search committee in URL format to be considered for position)</li>

CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE/EXPERIENCE:
Broad design industry knowledge and practical applied design experience are required along with the ability to translate that knowledge and experience in the classroom and in online courses. A willingness to participate as a team member to realize the overall goals of the DWP program (in both graphic design and web technology concentrations) and enthusiasm for preparing students for the workplace. A strong desire to work with students and to help them achieve success. Teaching and course development with competence in the DWP curriculum, including courses in design principles; Adobe software including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator; typography; content management systems using WordPress; brand identity design; appropriate media and software tools for encoding various media; delivery system attributes and limitations; design in social media; and e-portfolio development.&nbsp; Experience with both PC and MAC platforms using FTP software.
JOB LOCATION:
The primary job location is the Hardin Valley campus in Knoxville, Tennessee. Travel within our two-county service area may be required. Candidate’s must be prepared to teach at any of the college’s campuses as needed.
EQUIPMENT:

Teach in the area of Biology, specifically Anatomy and Physiology, according to college policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
A. Teaching
1. Teach in the area of competence according to college policy.
2. Apply theories and principles of learning to instruction.
3. Adapt instruction to the entry level knowledge and skills of students.
4. Recommend course and program changes to the academic department dean when appropriate.
5. Develop class syllabi which meet college requirements and student needs. Make class syllabi available on the first day of classes.
6. Use alternative instructional strategies as necessary
7. Inform students of special instructional resources located in the Libraries and/or the Academic Support Center.
8. Orient students to objectives and procedures before beginning instruction.
9. Establish and communicate clearly defined grading procedures and standards.
10. Give examinations and other types of evaluations necessary to determine student level of performance and understanding.
11. Consider the results of student perception surveys and student learning outcome assessments in revising and updating content, objectives, and instructional strategies.
12. Keep students aware of their progress in the course.
13. Perform record-keeping responsibilities related to teaching and advising.
14. Respond in a timely fashion to all reasonable deadlines.
15. Make reasonable classroom accommodations, course adjustments and academic program modifications as necessary to provide opportunity for qualified students with disabilities who present current accommodation plans to effectively participate in the educational process pursuant to Pellissippi State Policies 03:11:01 Academic Standards and 04:07:00 Disability Services.
B. Non-classroom Student Interactions
1. Be knowledgeable of the college policies, procedures, and assistance available to students.
2. Post and be available during office hours. The purpose of office hours is for students to know specific times when they can communicate with a faculty member. Office hours may be held in-person, or online, as appropriate.
3. Hold conferences with students as needed.
4. Interact with students in meaningful ways outside the classroom setting. Such interactions could be, but are not limited to, the following: sponsoring a student club or activity; holding extra review sessions for students; mentoring; academic advising; tutoring; serving as student orientation leaders.
C. Faculty Service
1. Serve on committees and task forces as appointed by the president or academic department dean.
2. Use professional knowledge and skills to contribute to local and professional community activities whenever appropriate.
3. Attend faculty meetings as scheduled.

JOB STANDARDS:
Minimum Faculty Qualifications&nbsp; All full-time and part-time faculty teaching credit-bearing courses at the associate’s degree level in the areas of humanities, fine arts, natural sciences, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, and business administration (not including courses that are part of career/technical programs) must have at the minimum a master’s degree in the their teaching field or have completed at least 18 graduate semester hours (or equivalent) in their teaching field and hold a master's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
Master’s degree or higher with 18 graduate credit hours in theoretical or applied biology or life sciences, or MD, DDS, DC, DVM with college level anatomy and/or physiology courses. Applicants should note that Biology Education graduate hours may not qualify. 
The Biology Faculty member must have a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the college level. Teaching experience at a community college is preferred.
