The Associate Director of Clinical Training acts as a secondary adviser to students related to their professional goals and development. This person works collaboratively with training site supervisors, as well as academic program faculty advisors on training related manners. This position reports to the the Department Chair in the Clinical Psy.D. Department.This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule that reflects three days on campus and two days remote, including one day for professional development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Assist students in site selection and review of application materials for practicum and doctoral internship.</li><li>Assist students who are encountering issues related to their practicum and internship experience.</li><li>Monitor progress of practicum performance, including evaluations, hour logs, and related paperwork.</li><li>Track data related to practicum and internship placements.</li><li>Advise on and engage in remediation planning for students.</li><li>Communicate with academic department around issues of professional development, training concerns, rules and regulations, and the search and placement process.</li><li>Participate in department-level strategic planning.</li><li>Consult on the development and maintenance of coursework pertinent clinical training.</li><li>Teach 6 credits, as assigned by the Clinical Psy.D. Department Chair.</li><li>Participate in re-accreditation efforts.</li><li>Interact and communicate successfully with a diverse population.</li><li>Act in a way that embodies the mission, vision and values of The Chicago School.</li><li>Maintain ethical behavior and the ability to demonstrate ethical decision making related to training concerns.</li><li>Develop and maintain a network of practicum sites, including visiting sites and building relationships with site supervisors.</li><li>Engage in site visits with existing sites for site maintenance, sites with student issues, and new sites for development (at least two sites per month).</li><li>Adhere to all confidentiality requirements.</li><li>Attend Faculty Council meetings and serve on a Faculty Council Committee.</li><li>Attend Clinical PsyD. Department meetings.</li><li>Attend DC Directors of Clinical Training meetings.</li><li>Engage with the Admissions process through presentations and interviews of and to candidates.</li><li>Assist the Director of Clinical Training and Department Chair with the collection and storage of licensure data.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and Director of Clinical Training.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Doctoral-level, licensed Clinical or Counseling Psychologist. Specific attention will be paid to organizational measurement and assessment for the purpose of demonstrating the effectiveness of organizational interventions on desired outcomes such as customer retention, return on investment, and organizational effectiveness.The Qualitative Research Methods course examines the methods that can be credibly employed to examine cultural and cross-cultural research in psychology. Topics include: qualitative design frameworks, establishing trustworthiness and credibility, threats to trustworthiness and mediation strategies, data collection, data analysis, and results reporting.The Statistics and Lab course presents the descriptive and inferential statistical techniques used in decision making. This course also examines problem-solving research methods currently used in organizational and industrial psychology. Students will apply univariate and multivariate statistics using computer programs designed to fulfill the needs of practitioners to address real organizational problems using research methods. This course is delivered in a blended format, where students complete the “lecture” portion of the class online and the lab portion either in a classroom for campus based students in webinar format for distance learning students.&nbsp;The Advanced Statistics course focuses on how to effectively use statistics to make effective decisions in research and practice. The objective is to help students learn how to use statistics to draw conclusions about applied problems. The approach will be to help students discover how to use statistics to frame the questions they ask and examine the answers they get. This is a ‘thinking’ course about understanding derived information to solve problems more than a ‘formula’ class about assessing data. Advanced multivariate methods will be explored as ways in which students can creatively explore organization conditions, examine interrelationships, and draw actionable conclusions.&nbsp;Courses run 14 weeks in fall and spring semesters, and 8 weeks in the summer.
